Joust is a 1982 action arcade game developed and published by Williams Electronics. In the game, players take on the role of knights riding large flying birds - an ostrich for Player 1 and a stork for Player 2 - each armed with a lance. The objective is to defeat enemy knights mounted on buzzards and other foes by colliding with them from above while navigating single-screen levels filled with floating platforms. Joust was praised for its unique premise and highly enjoyable gameplay.
